WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Pool Hours

These hours may need to be changed, with no notice, due to weather, or health concerns (i.e., diaper failures). Also, swim team is returning this swim season! This means our pool will close to accommodate our at-home swim meets. These dates will be published in advance.

From May 28 - June 2 & August 22 - Labor Day, pool hours will be:

M-Th 4-8 PM

F 4-10 PM

S & S Noon-8 PM


June 3 - August 21 hours will be:

M-Th 12-8 PM

F 12-10 PM

S 10-Noon lap swim

    12-8 PM open swim

S 12-8 PM


Rules & Regulations

Check-in Procedures

1. Members must check in at the front desk upon entry to the Club. BPSC staff must check members in via tablet or paper

at the guard table.

2. All guests MUST be accompanied by a current BPSC member in order to enter the Club.

3. A maximum of five (5) guest are permitted per membership, per visit.


Conduct

1. Members are responsible for the actions of themselves, their children, and their guests.

2. Personal conduct (words and/or actions) deemed dangerous, offensive, or destructive may lead to suspension

of all Club privileges.

3. No glass of any kind within the fence. Broken glass will result in closure of the facility for approximately two (2) weeks to

drain, clean, and refill the pool. Membership will immediately be revoked for the remainder of the season for any member

responsible for broken glass inside the fence. If you must have glass containers, keep them in your car or outside the fence.

4. No running on the concrete walks or pool decks. No climbing on retaining walls, guard chairs, fences or railings.

5. Pets are not permitted inside the fence.

6. Members are responsible to clean up after themselves, placing refuse in the trash cans and returning equipment

(chairs, kick boards, etc.) to the location they were acquired.

7. Consume alcohol responsibly. Underage drinking or providing alcohol to minors will be reported to local authorities.

8. In accordance with Allegheny County Health Code, BPSC is a tobacco free facility. No smoking, vaping or tobacco

products.

9. Use of private radios and/or Bluetooth speakers are prohibited when the pool sound system is in operation.

10. Be respectful of others when throwing balls or games that involve thrown objects. BPSC reserves the right to limit

activities that may be detrimental to other’s enjoyment of the Club during periods of high usage.

11. All injuries or accidents are to be reported to the Manager, Assistant Manager or head lifeguard.

Main Pool:

1. No one shall use the pool unless it is officially open and lifeguards are on duty.

2. Children who are age 12 and older, may come to the Club without an adult. Swimmers may be asked to perform a

deep-water safety test.

3. Use of any of the swimming pools shall be refused to anyone with open sores, inflamed eyes, significant bandages, or

communicable disease.

4. Non-swimming children who cannot stand alone in the shallow end or any swimmer wearing a personal floatation

device must be within arms reach of a parent or guardian at all times.

5. Small, soft toys without sharp edges are permitted in each of the pools at the discretions of the lifeguards. Lifeguards

reserve the right to limit the use of overly large rafts or inner tubes that impede their vision.

6. Adult swim periods may be held for approximately 15 minutes of each hour. Children under 18 are not allowed in

the pools. The only exception being infants less than 12 months old, who are being held by a parent or guardian.

7. Lap swim times will be communicated through the weekly email distribution. Lap times may be adjusted by lifeguards

based on pool occupancy. Only lifeguards shall install and remove lap lines.

8. Starting blocks are not to be used, except during swim team practice, swim meets or during organized activities.

Diving Board & Water Slide:

1. No swimming shall occur below the diving board or water slide when in use.

2. Only one person on the diving board or water slide at a time.

3. Only one bounce permitted on the board and all persons must dive straight off the end of the board.

4. The previous diver/slider must clear the area below the diving board or water slide before the next diver/slider steps

onto the board or slide.

5. Divers/sliders must swim out of the diving area after surfacing.

Baby Pool:

1. Parents or guardians must be with their children at the baby pool.

2. All children who wear diapers must wear disposable swimming diapers while in any pool.

3. The baby pool is for children under the age of 6.

4. No water guns or thrown toys.

Miscellaneous:

1. Playing in the restrooms is prohibited.

2. Only lifeguards and pool staff are permitted in the snack shop, break room, and mechanical room.

3. Any concerns should be directed to the Manager, Assistant Manager, or head lifeguard.

4. The Manager, Assistant Manager, and lifeguards have complete authority to enforce all Club rules as outlined.

Violators may be reported to the Board.

Weather:

1. The pool will be cleared anytime thunder is heard, or lightning seen. The pool will reopen 30 minutes after the last

thunder is heard or the last lightning sighting.

2. If poor weather persists, the pool may close for a portion or remainder of the day. Pool clearing and closings are at the

discretion of the pool management
